Remotix

Remotix 5 for Mac and Remotix 7 for iOS with NEAR released!

NEAR

It is a very exciting day today as we are finally ready to introduce all of you to our impressive low-latency remote desktop protocol called NEAR. NEAR brings hardware accelerated H.264 based desktop experience to all platforms, as well as remote sound transfer, transparent multi-language input, and automatic clipboard synchronization. It is worth mentioning that Apple Screen Sharing, RDP and VNC are still first class citizens in Remotix.

Implementing NEAR is a big job, but we worked on other things too. Below you can find a list of new features ready for you to try them out:

Remotix Cloud Sync

Our service synchronizes your server list across all your devices automatically (including Android and Windows) once you log in to Remotix Cloud via Remotix app on a given device.

Hardware-accelerated H.264 support for RDP connections

RDP10 includes the capability of transferring desktop picture using H.264, dramatically improving the user experience.

Multiple groups

All the stored servers can now be partitioned into multiple groups (previously known as categories), giving you a more precise way to organize them.

Separate SSH and RDG settings

SSH and Remote Desktop Gateway servers are now managed separately from your stored computers. That means that once you have an SSH or RDG server configured, you can use that same configuration for all your stored computers.

Additionally on macOS:

Built-in Chat

Chat freely with the users behind the machines you manage right from Remotix. Remotix Hub Chat, previously only available on Remotix Hub web (and Remotix Agent), now coming to Remotix itself.

Additionally on iOS:

Citrix X1 & Swiftpoint GT mouse support

This was a popular request, so we included Citrix X1 mouse support. Swiftpoint GT mouse handling also got several fixes. Enjoy!

Unified scanner

We've merged NetBIOS and Bonjour scanners into one unified scanner. It is easier to locate nearby computers now.

Complete IPv6 support

We've implemented a complete IPv6 support in Remotix for iOS. The connectivity issues within Verizon and T-Mobile cellular networks are, hopefully, gone.

The NEAR protocol comes with Remotix apps which are available on the App Store, Mac App Store, and our website.

Remotix for Windows and Remotix for Android with NEAR are coming soon.
